Condition of Items for Submission
1) All consigned items must be clean and in good condition. Judgement of the condition is at the discretion of Consign It Quilts and More (hereinafter referred to CIQM). Soiled or damaged items or poorly made items will not be accepted and will be returned to the consignor COD.
How To Submit Items For Posting On Website
2) Please print the “ Submission Form” when sending an item to CIQM. The Submission Form will provide a complete description of the items and the products used. This will then accompany each photo (we provide the photos) of your consigned item on the web site This form is under the “Quilters Only” tab.
3) Quilts/Items must be mailed to 4005 Manzanita Ave. Suite 6 PMB-220. For direct/physical drop off of items call (916) 671-1673 to get the address, etc.. E-mail address: eileen@consignitquiltsandmore.com.
4) Upon receipt of item, CIQM will send you an e-mail letting you know if the quilt/item has been received and is accepted. If not accepted it will be returned to sender COD. If it is accepted, a photo and description will be on the web site within 7 days.
Terms of Submission of Items
5) Quilts/Items will be held for sale and advertised on our web site for a maximum of 6 months. ** Due to the launch date of June 1, 2008 all quilts and items submitted prior to that date will not start their 6 months clock until June 1, 2008.** At the end of the 6 months all unsold items will be shipped back to the consignor via COD after consignor pays for any quilting, binding or batting expenses that were incurred during the finishing process by CIQM (if applicable). The consignor will be notified via e-mail of the shipping cost.
6) CIQM must be informed of any address or phone number changes immediately by telephone (916-671-1673) or e-mail: eileen@consignitquiltsandmore.com. Every effort will be made to return items to the owner at the end of the contract period. However, if the owner cannot be located, items will be kept for a period of 60 days. After 60 days all unclaimed items become the property of CIQM.
7) CIQM will accept a maximum of 6 items at any one time from any one consignor. As one item is sold, consignor may submit another item to replace the sold item. All new items must be accompanied by a Submission Form.
8) Initial pricing from consignor (Fabric and Labor, Quilting and Binding) is decided upon submission. This is the amount that CIQM will pay to the consignor when an item is sold, the guarantee period expires and when payment in full has been received by the purchaser.
9) In the event that CIQM provides additional services, i.e quilting, batting or binding or thread cost (if any additional) the total price will include the Initial pricing from consignor PLUS all additional services provided by CIQM.
10) Once an item is SOLD it will immediately state so on the web site.
Insurance and Shipping Information
11) CIQM has insurance coverage in the event of loss due to fire, or theft.
12) CIQM will ship each item to the new buyer. We have special packaging to prevent any mishaps to the items in transit. The buyer will be paying the shipping cost in their total purchase.
Guarantee Information
13) CIQM will offer a 7 day guarantee policy to the purchasers. Should a buyer receive their item and it doesn’t work for them - for ANY reason, they are to return it (in the same condition) and receive their money back. This will keep happy and hopefully repeat buyers.
Payment/Income Information
14) Checks for items that have sold will be issued to consignors at the end of the month. If the guarantee period has not expired on an item, the check will be issued at the end of the subsequent month.
15) At the end of the calendar year IRS Form 1099 will be issued to all consignors whose total income exceeded $600.
Use and Display of Quilts/Items
16) consignor agrees that CIQM has the right to display items at quilt shows, events etc. to introduce the public to the quilts and the web site. Every effort will be made to take extra care of each and every item used for display.
17) CIQM, at its sole discretion, my list consinged items on e-Bay or any other sales venue, wheter on-line or not if CIQM determines that the consigned items will be sold for a higher price inthat venue. CIQM will pay all costs associated with sale of this item in the venue selected and the consginer will receive their initial price, per the Consignment Submission Form.
18) consignor agrees that CIQM may advertise using photos of any of consigned quilts or items.
19) CIQM will launch and administer the web site, create brochures, advertise and expend every effort to sell the consigned items as quickly as possible.
Offer For Less Than Advertised Price
20) There may be times when an offer for a price less than advertised comes in on a quilt. At that point CIQM will call consignor to discuss the offer. Items will not be sold at reduced prices unless agreed upon by consignor and CIQM.
CIQM Additional Services Option
21) CIQM has a long arm quilting machine on premises. Consignors may choose to finish the quilt top ONLY. To take advantage of the long arm quilting service you will need to send in the quilt top and backing fabric (3” larger than top on all sides) and binding fabric and we will complete the quilting and binding. The cost breakdown is as follows:
Binding: $2 per running foot, with mitered corners, attached with machine stitching and followed with hand or machine finishing. Quilting: $.01-$.04 per square inch. (Depending on size and intricacies of the pattern) Squaring Quilt: $25 per hour Batting: $5.99 per yard
Consignment Fee
22) The consignment fee is 40% (per cent) of the total price.
Cancellation Info
23) Should a consignor want items returned before end of 6 month period, there will be a $100 cancellation fee plus any expenses to complete the items i.e. quilting, binding, batting, etc. Upon receipt of the cancellation fee and any additional services fee (if any), all items submitted by consignor will be returned COD, and the Agreement is Null and Void for any future business between consignor and CIQM.
If consignor no longer wishes to use the services of CIQM, call or email right away so your information will be removed from the web site immediately.
Personal Accounting Form
24) Your own Personal Accounting Form will be available on the website. This will be a tool that you can use to keep track of what you have submitted, what has sold and how much you have spent on fabric, etc. This form will be accessible to you and CIQM ONLY. You will need to provide CIQM a User Name and Password. Please enter your information below.
After this form is received by CIQM, consignor will receive an e-mail confirmation of User Name and Password. Please keep a copy of this information.
Sumission Form and IRS W9 Form
You can print your copy of the Submission Form and IRS Form W-9 by clicking the link.The W-9 form is to be completed once annually. You will need to complete both forms upon submission of your FIRST quilt or item. Once the W-9 is on file in our records, you will only need to submit the Submission Form with each subsequent quilt.
